Consecration to The Sacred Heart of Jesus

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops will consecrate the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus during the 250th Anniversary of our Nation on Friday, June 11, 2026.

The weekend of June 13 and 14, the priests of the diocese of Springfield will lead the Consecration of their parishes to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. 

Bishop William Byrne will consecrate the Diocese of Springfield to the Sacred Heart of Jesus at a special Mass.

 All are welcome to attend the Mass or tune in to the LIVE coverage on the Chalice of Salvation, 10 a.m. on 22News-WWLP.

La Conferencia de los Obispos Católicos de Estados Unidos consagrará a los Estados Unidos al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús con motivo del 250 aniversario de nuestra nación, el viernes, 11 de junio de 2026.

In honor of 250 years of the United States of America, the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage Mother Cabrini Route will take place this year beginning in St. Augustine, Florida and making its way up through more than 18 different dioceses in the 13 original colonies, including the diocese of Springfield. The National Eucharistic Pilgrimage comes to Springfield’s Forest Park Amphitheater for «Ignite»… an inspiring evening celebrating the rich cultural diversity of the Diocese of Springfield. All night Adoration will be offered at St. Michael’s Cathedral in Springfield starting at 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 18 until 9:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19. The Latino Catholic community of the Diocese will gather together for a special closing Holy Hour from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m., Friday, June 19 to conclude the all-night Adoration. The Cathedral of St. Michael has received, as of now, with pledges and gifts totaling $25,922 from 101 donors. Thank you to those who have given to this important appeal, assisting agencies of the Diocese of Springfield who rely on this funding to maintain their various programs, many of them assisting the poor and the needy in our area. If you have not donated thus far, you will find envelopes and flyers at the entrances of the cathedral. Thank you.
